Take the kids on an adventure holiday across Oz that will fulfil their wildest fantasies.

"Meet the real Santa Claus."

For the Adventurous Dreamer
For the little ones with their heads in the clouds who want to experience the unheard of, go for it: just close your eyes and conjure up the ultimate. We’ll help you get there.

“My best holiday ever would be to go to the North Pole because you could meet the real Santa Claus and have a ride on his sled. I’d get Christmas presents early and see the baby seals and penguins. And that is why I’d like to go to the North Pole.”
- Francesca, aged 9, Ashfield NSW

“I want to go with Baz Luhrmann to Bollywood. And, yes, I could go fishing with Ken for the rest of the year down at the Billabong.”
- Dylan, aged 8, Daly River Community NT

“I would like to go to Shark Bay in WA to go fishing and catch a shark. Then I would like to go to central Australia to see Uluru – the biggest rock in the world. Finally I would like to go to Brazil to meet the soccer players. That would be my best holiday ever.”
- Declan, aged 8, Summer Hill NSW

“I would like to have a tea party with some fairies, especially the pink ones. Oh, and the tooth fairy.”
- Madeleine, aged 4, Prospect SA

“The best holiday would be in the sky. Stay in the clouds and fly around like Batman.”
- Sam, aged 5, West Croydon SA

Christmas Pageant
Each state has its own unique way of celebrating an Aussie Christmas, and many are in the form of annual processions that’ll transport you straight to Santa’s secret village. One of the world’s biggest Christmas parades, the Credit Union Christmas Pageant, marches through the heart of Adelaide. With fairytale floats, marching bands, choirs, more than 900 costumed characters, dance troupes and marching girls, it’s an absolute kaleidoscope of colour. Check out www.cupageant.com.au for more info.

The moving image
Due to Australia’s diverse natural beauty, the country is a popular destination for filming international movies, including Bollywood productions. Film superstars of the next generation, watch out for productions being filmed in your state – you might even be used as an extra on set! Australia’s TV, film and media world is developed at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI), Melbourne. It’s the first centre dedicated to film production in Australia. Proactive workshops are available for all children to participate in: learn camera techniques, write film scripts, act in scenes, work as production crew and submerge into the world of Baz Luhrmann.

Birds eye view
If you want to fly like a bird, AT suggests cable hang gliding in SA. Pack your Superman suit and head for Airborne Action, Old Noarlunga. As long as you’re older than four and weigh less than 110kg, leaping into the air is as easy as one, two, THREE! Airborne Action is adrenalin-heavy yet safe; all flyers are fitted with body harnesses before gliding along a 300m cable, so that thrillseekers enjoy the freedom of flight in a completely safe way. Watch your young pals take to the air, and remember to make the most of your Batman spin: it doesn’t last long.

Find Fairyland
Little folk dream of fairies, elves and pixies, and if your little dreamer wants to relive the fairytale of Cinderella, take a trip to the beautiful Onkaparinga Valley in the Adelaide Hills. The illusory journey takes you through natural surrounds where lifesize displays of fairytales such as Snow White, The Three Little Pigs and Sleeping Beauty await. Each themed tale has memorabilia and goodies relaying the stories. Parents, it’s up to you to bring the legend to life.

Brazilian Soccer
If the prospect of meeting actual Brazilian soccer players makes your bank balance cringe, it may be time to consider local substitutes. AT gives the new Brazilian soccer school in Sutherland Shire NSW a big thumbs up – it’s a great way for budding Ronaldos to learn core moves and specialised skills from qualified coaches. The school offers fabulous soccer camps during school holidays, and the sport is growing so rapidly that there could soon be one in your area!
