Botanical Garden

Toowong Gardens, Brisbane. Toowong Gardens, Brisbane.

My Favourite . . .

. . . Botanical Garden

AT reader Rebecca Vickery from Albany Creek in Queensland likes to take time out to develop her green thumb.

If you’re after a good way to entertain yourself, go to your local parks and gardens – they’re amazing places and entry is free.

My personal favorite is Toowong Gardens at the base of Mt Coo-tha in Brisbane. They have themed gardens from different countries and the area is huge: you can picnic near a pond, wander around native trees from different places throughout the world, enjoy the Japanese garden – there’s just so much to see and do.

A wall of rememberance, totum poles, free performances on most Sundays . . . you could spend days there and not see it all.
