Opera under the Stars Broome

Be whisked away by the surrounds of Cable Beach as you watch and listen to the brilliant vocals of opera under the stars.   

The perfect time of the day is just watching the clear blue sky mellowing down, while along the horizon line there’s a hint of hazy orange appearing as sunset approaches. But within minutes, the sun will inch away into darkness and by then you’ll be sitting under the night sky seeing the twinkling of the bright stars above you. 

 This will be your backdrop when you sit and listen to the extraordinary vocal and instrumental performance at the 2008 Opera Under the Stars on Cable Beach in Broome at the Cable Beach Amphitheatre.

For the 16th time, the annual award-winning gala is on again for one night only on Saturday August 30. You’ll be treated to a star performance with a stellar line-up: Aviale Cole, Judit Lorincz, Bradley Daley, Douglas McNicol and Francis Greep, to name just a few, who will blow you away with their performances. The night’s show will also consist of some of the best-known classics by Mozart, Puccini and many others.

As you enjoy the grace of good music, you can sit back and munch away on an Opera Hamper catered by the Cable Club Beach Resort. It serves two people and costs $60 per hamper. You’ll have the choice of selecting a classic menu or the vegetarian option, so you could be enjoying some smoked Tasmanian salmon or indulging your taste buds with a decadent chocolate mud cake.

Opera Under the Stars travel packages to Broome are also available, which will save you the time and unnecessary hassle of organising transportation and accommodation – they include return airport transfers, four nights accom and, of course, your pass to get into the Opera Gala. Prices vary depending on your selection of accommodation and tickets to the event are limited, which means pre-booking is necessary. Tickets are $75 per person.
