  • What better way could there be to ring in a national holiday than with a little friendly competition?

This Australia Day, Havaianas is once again encouraging Aussies to come out and show not just their country pride, but their state pride too, as Havaianas hosts the 5th Annual Thong Challenge world record attempt.
In 2009 on Bondi Beach, NSW set the world record for the longest human chain ever formed in the water. Now popular thong-meisters Havaianas is challenging the other states to go head-to-head with one another to break that record – and, as incentive, the winner will receive not only a place in the Guinness Book of Records, but also the ever-coveted “Thong Challenge Trophy”, which will be awarded to the winning state’s Surf Life Saving Club.

Grab your friends and family and head to the beach this year to celebrate Australia Day by setting a world record for your state!

If bragging rights aren’t enough of an incentive, the event will also benefit the local nippers clubs. For the registration fee of $30 (or $25 if you register online), you’ll receive a Giant Inflatable Havaianas Thong and for each registration, Havaianas will give $15 to the winning state’s nippers program.

So grab your friends and family and head to the beach this year to celebrate Australia Day by setting a world record for your state! What better way could there be to ring in a national holiday than with a little friendly competition?

Details // The event starts at 9:00am (local time) and costs $30 ($25 if you register online). For more information and to register visit www.havaianasthongchallenge.com.au
