Advertising

Advertising Information for Australian Traveller magazine.

Background

Australian Traveller Media was launched in 2005 to cater to an untapped and under-serviced market: the domestic traveller. More than 70% of the money spent on tourism in Australia is spent by an Australian.

Until now, travel magazines have focused predominantly on overseas travel, with a small proportion of domestic content. Australian Traveller magazine fills that void by providing high quality information – and inspiration – for Australians travelling within Australia. And that’s most of us.

Our philosophy is simple: provide advertisers with a focused domestic travel audience, while providing readers with a high-quality, inspirational and informative magazine that enhances their travel.

We believe it’s important that domestic operators have a domestic travel environment within which to advertise. Asking domestic operators to advertise in a medium that dedicates 80% percent of its content to international destinations seems disingenuous – if not utterly pointless.

Our Successes To Date

  • Australian Traveller is Australia’s biggest selling travel magazine.

  • Australian Traveller is the only travel magazine in Australia with a paid (ABC) Audit.

  • Australian Traveller is the only travel magazine stocked by Woolworths.

  • Australian Traveller has a pass-on rate of 6.25 readers per copy. One of the highest pass-on rates for any magazine in the country.

  • Australian Traveller is 2GB radio’s travel correspondent. The segment is branded “Aussie Traveller" and reaches more than 77,000 people in the Sydney market every week

  • Australian Traveller is the only travel magazine in Australia that runs TVC’s to promote the magazine.

  • Australian Traveller spends more on marketing than any other travel magazine in the country.
