Bird’s Eye Photos
You don’t need to take flight to see the world from a different perspective this January. A visit to Perth’s Cultural Centre is more than sufficient.
AT cannot believe it has been almost 9 years since we first came across the now world famous Earth From Above Exhibition but we’ll never forget seeing the blown up artistic photographs in Paris – and then again in Sydney a couple of years ago.
Yann Arthus-Bertrand’s 120 images are simply breathtaking. All of them give you an unusual view of our planet and show unexpected patterns, colours and scenes.
The award-winning French photographer and former photojournalist started his Earth From Above project in 1990, under the patronage of the Ecological Science Department of UNESCO, with the aim to create an image bank of the earth seen from above, a record of the state of the planet and mankind’s impact on it at the start of the new millennium.
You’ll need to be quick to catch the exhibition before it moves on to another location at the end of January but, with the center open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, you really don’t have any excuse not to go. It’s not often the world comes to your doorstep!
