Locals make you feel as if you’re right at home, always with a spare minute to discuss the weather. Port Lincoln also provides a solid base from which to explore the coast and hinterland of the Lower Eyre Peninsula.

The Tunarama Festival is a bizarre celebration in respect of the towns Tuna industry. During the Australia Day long weekend, tuna-lovers participate in activities such as a tuna toss, keg rolls, camel rides, talent quests, magic acts and sideshow alleys.
For those feeling a little more adventurous, go swimming within centimeters of the ferocious Great White Shark. Of course Calypso Star Charter will make sure you’re safe in a sturdy cage, but the sheer monstrosity of the crazy beast will still hit hard. Just make sure to keep one eye open.

The best time to visit Port Lincoln is during March, May and November.
TRANSPORT
A local bus service runs through the town regularly and rental cars are available.
Rex Airlines and QantasLink frequent daily between Port Lincoln and Adelaide. The flight is about 45 minutes. Travelling by car takes approximately 7 hours from Adelaide.
