Not many hairdressers can boast of having custom-made Louis Vuitton luggage to carry their curling tongs around in. But then, John Nollet isn’t your average hairdresser. As a red-carpet regular and familiar face at Cannes and the Oscars, and with A-list clientele that include Johnny Depp, Monica Bellucci (pictured above), Liz Hurley, Kylie Minogue and Uma Thurman, an appointment with the golden scissors of French-born Nollet is currently the hottest ticket in town.

Nollet’s much sought-after hair diagnoses, cuts and colours will be available to a limited number of local clientele at the Park Hyatt Sydney for just one week in September – providing you book sufficiently in advance and are willing to splash out several hundred dollars for the privilege.

Having launched his “premier hair room service” to great acclaim at the ultra-exclusive Cheval-Blanc hotel in Courchevel in the French Alps, Nollet is teaming up again with Louis Vuitton, leader of the fashion avant-garde, to bring his hair room service concept to the Park Hyatt in Sydney.

With a custom-made, three-piece Louis Vuitton luggage suite in tow (for the tools of his trade and a unique collection of couture hair accessories), Nollet is this year undertaking a sensational tour du monde that will take him to the suites of 11 different Park Hyatt hotels, in 11 different international cities, over a whirlwind 11 months.

The price tag might not sound like the steal of the century, but how often does the chance come around to spend an afternoon sipping champagne while the world’s grandest coiffeur lavishes you with personal attention and transforms you with his expertise, all in the comfort of your own hotel room? Unless you’re Kylie, we’re guessing not very often.

Details // So far, John Nollet’s schedule has been Milan in Feb, Moscow in March, Istanbul in April, New York and DC in June, Chicago in July, Buenos Aires in August, and he’ll be at Park Hyatt Sydney from Sept 22 to 29, before heading off to Tokyo in October, Shanghai in November and finishing in London in December. Cuts are $1200 and a cut & colour is $1700. To book an appointment with Nollet during his stay, contact Virginie Nuyen at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
