The Brett Whiteley Regional Exhibition
Looking Ahead: Brett Whiteley Regional Exhibition
Can’t get to the Brett Whiteley Studio? It may be coming to you…wherever you are.
For all those Brett Whiteley fans that have never seen an original of his work because they live too far away from galleries featuring his masterpieces, the 9 Shades of Whiteley exhibition is coming to a regional centre near you.
Twenty pieces of Whiteley’s work will be travelling the country from July onwards, showcasing his life and career from his earliest painting Self portrait at sixteen 1955 to Port Douglas, far North Queensland 1992 – painted just a few months before his death. For one-and-a-half years, Australians in regional areas across three states (NSW, VIC and QLD) can view Whiteleys early works, abstracts, Christie & London zoo series, Lavender Bay, portraits, birds & landscapes, sculptures, late works, the Studio and a collection of photographs.
