Don’t miss the showing of Peter Murphy’s multimedia work at Sydney’s Customs House. Words by Eleanor Griffin.
The curious lens of Peter Murphy has shaped the buskers, residents and workers of Sydney and the spread of the beaches and skyline. Murphy has constructed his equipment to interpret the comprehensive and panoramic views of the city which he has been documenting for over 25 years. The dizzying heights and the fish-eye lens combine for optical confusion, elevating the perspective to create very interesting views of the cityscape.
His multimedia work, including videos and time-lapse slideshows, will be showing from 26 November 2009–31 January 2010 at the Customs House alongside NOCTURNAL by Peter Solness. All are welcome at this free, family-friendly event.
