Yep, it’s that time of year again. The Ford Fiesta Moonlight Cinema is back. Parks by day, entertainment by night, inner-city locations in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth will all be transformed as the sun goes down this summer.

The start of the summer season cannot be marked without a night at the Moonlight Cinema. There’s simply nothing better than chilling out in a summer breeze and checking out your favourite onscreen stars.

So get a group of friends together for a spot of alfresco dining and a trip down memory lane with screenings of classics like Breakfast at Tiffanys, or check out the latest releases including the new James Bond instalment – and contender for weirdest name for a Bond film yet – The Quantum of Solace.

Cult classics Top Gun, Donnie Darko: the Director’s Cut and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off are bound to be even more entertaining under the stars.

Don’t let it dampen your spirits but, like popcorn spills and mobile phones at the multiplex, open-air cinema does have its issues: bat droppings (in Sydney anyway) and neighbouring picnic rug canoodling can be a bit distracting . . . still, AT will be first in line to kick back and do some stargazing.

Tickets, $13-17, are available online or at the gate. For full details and a list of screening schedules, check out www.moonlight.com.au
