Armidale being the gateway to the world heritage New England National Parks and the Waterfall Way to the Coffs Coast is a great home base for exploring the region. The scenic flights offered by the Fleet Helicopters company at the airport over the unbelievable gorge country just east of Armidale should not be missed. Fishing in the Maclay Rivers is a well kept secret by the locals that will have you a million miles from civilization just a hour by road or a few minutes by air from town. While the city is a real gem with its tree lined streets and sidewalk cafes in the mall brings a cosmopolitan feel to the bush. A week in Armidale will have you yearning for the great outdoors.

  • Armidale is a beautiful and dynamic regional city. It has incredible heritage buidings, fine parks and gardens, exceptionally good restaurants offering the cuisine of many countries, boutique shopping, excellent cold climate wines , a harmonious multicultural community, the oldest regional university in Australia and it is surrounded by world-heritage listed national parks. I extend a warm Armidale welcome to visitors and urge you to experience the highs of our beautiful region.
