After years of working as leather manufacturers, Bob and Margaret Craven of Canowindra, Central NSW, found there was nothing in town tying together its three major communities.

“There’s a great synchrony here between food, wine and the arts,” says Bob, “so the logical thing was to bring them all together.”

As luck would have it, a cellar door in town had just closed so the Cravens snapped it up and opened Taste Canowindra – a one-stop shop for local food, wine, art and music.

Their new purpose-built property houses a full bottle shop where over 50 wines are available for tastings every day, as well as local craft and a restaurant focused on 100-mile cuisine.
