Thirty local wineries and food producers in the Hunter Valley are pooling their high-end nibbles and top drops for the area’s newest wine festival.

The inaugural Hunter Valley Wine Festival in October will include vino from a range of the valley’s producers, from boutique to more recognised brands such as Tyrrell’s and Brokenwood.

Beers and ciders from the Hunter provide other options to wash down the gourmet produce on offer.

The one-day festival takes place in the grounds of Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley, under a purpose-built marquee, with live music from vocalist and composer Rebecca Henry and children’s activities including the good ‘ol jumping castle to help tire out the kids.

Tickets for the event, which include 10 tastings each, are $30 pre-sale or $40 on the day (under 18 years of age free).
