Like we said, we all wish we could stay at Capella Lodge Lord Howe Island When you see a view like this, don’t you want to jump straight into it? Just looking at this photograph, shot by Peter Aitchison, made all of us at AT want to pack a bag ASAP.
It promises so much – Lord Howe Island’s lush green grass, tropical plantings, cool blue sea and picturesque Mounts Lidgbird and Gower, which cry out to be either climbed or photographed, depending on your energy levels.

The view belongs, of course, to Capella Lodge, one of the Luxury Lodges of Australia, a hotel group that also includes Margaret River’s Cape Lodge, Hamilton Island’s qualia and the Emirates Wolgan Valley Resort. So it doesn’t come cheap.

Happily, staring at this picture does. And until we have an anniversary or other special occasion, so we can settle into a table at the resort restaurant that boasts this view, it doesn’t hurt to dream.
