Alissa Jenkins takes a shopping tour around Manly to check out the many new shops that have recently opened…all in the name of research of course.
Girls, it’s time to get Manly…the Sydney suburb that is.
Over the past four years the seaside suburb has seen some 30 new restaurants, bars and boutique stores pop up within the CBD, making it a fresh new shopping destination within the city.
Yes, it’s a bit of a hike to get there for Thursday late-night shopping, but it makes for a scenic weekend outing, especially if it’s nice weather for a fun ferry ride there.
Among the new must-see boutiques for when you’re next in the area are Latitude, Lulu Loves Paris, Nelli & Mo, Silver Blue and Nordic Fusion.
Some of the new eateries also worth are visit are Hemingway’s, Adriano Zumbo and Hugos Manly, all of which I can say boast great locations.
Meanwhile the local Steyne Hotel is currently undergoing major renovations, shedding its once seedy reputation to become a beautiful and classy venue with unreal views of the beach.
But if you’re only visiting the area and don’t care to spend half your time trudging around trying to find these new businesses and secret hot-spots, consider going on an I Love Shopping Manly tour.
Accompanied by Manly local and self-confessed ‘shopaholic’, Deborah Mooney, the tour takes you to little local gems, with the added option of an accompanying stylist to help make those big decisions.
It’s not just for the classic girls getaway either. These shopping tours cater for men, hen’s parties and lovers of vintage pre-loved designer clothing.
So next time you’re in need of some retail therapy, consider venturing over the bridge and checking out what’s new in Manly.
