Sydney’s Marble Bar is celebrating its 120th birthday on a musical note, seeking bands that were part of its “heritage” as well as new musicians.
The Hilton hotel-based bar is recruiting across musical genres for acts to play at the festivities that will takes place in October in the historic venue.
Built in 1893, it features carved mahogany bars and is decorated with a collection of Julian Ashton paintings, valued at around $1.6 million.
It has been a prime place to celeb spot over the years, frequented by stars such as Liza Minnelli, Kelly Rowland, Ewan McGregor and Slash.
