You really can’t afford to miss this year’s annual Yamba Festival writes Deborah Jackson.

We picked it in 2009 as the number one town in Australia.  Be there as this beautiful little fishing village lights up for the 5th annual Yamba Festival.
Rain, hail or shine, the town will come to life with an array of colourful street performers, soulful buskers, artists, comedians, photography exhibitions and other fun and exciting entertainers already confirmed for four amazing fun-filled days in August.
Formally known as ‘Surfing the Coldstream’, the event began in 2005 with an eclectic program of acrobats, snake charmers, sword swallowers, belly dancers and a vast array of other weird and wonderful entertainment.  With the help of the Live Prawn Productions Inc, it has since grown into a fantastic annual event helping to boost tourism in the Clarence Coast Region.
Organisers are taking the Festival back to its surfing roots this year, with the theme being ‘surf culture’.  So pull out your boardies, thongs and anything tie-dyed and make sure you dress the part.
