Dralion, the latest avant garde production from the world-renowned group Cirque du Soleil brings East and West together in Brisbane Swinging Lions, Somersaulting Dragons

If you’ve had enough of Rudolph, Scrooge, the Grinch and their friends, check into the big top for a spectacular show and say hi to Azala, Gaya, Oceane and Yao instead – AT promises there won’t be any carol singing.

Dralion, the latest avant garde production from the world-renowned group Cirque du Soleil brings East and West together. In Brisbane from November 27, the blue and yellow big top, The Grand Chapiteau, will be parked on McArthur Avenue, Hamilton until January 4 before heading off around the country.

Breaking boundaries of the imagination, this season, you’ll see the laws of nature, of air, water, fire and earth be broken. The otherworldly special effects and exotic costumes are outshone by an eclectic collection of performers. From aerial hoop dance and 6ft bamboo balancing to ballet on lights, these professionals make feats of madness look easy. You’ll hold your breath but there’s unlikely to be a toe out of line from these highly trained circus people.

Over 80 million people have been wowed inside the big blue top. From humble beginnings as Quebec street performers, the Cirque du Soleil team is an international success, with performers from around the world. Performances on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve are guaranteed to be the highlight of the festive season.
