Australian Traveller Magazine’s 100 Great Australian Holiday Homes
At the northern end of the Tangalooma Island Resort complex on Moreton Island, just a short hop northeast of Brisbane in Moreton Bay, stands this absolute beachfront holiday home perfect for family stays.

Looking out directly over Moreton Bay towards the famous Tangalooma Wrecks, one of the beauties of Coign House 1 is that it’s managed by the resort, so you get to take advantage of a few of their perks – such as a free hosted dolphin feeding session thrown in with your stay. Aside from the panoramic views from its private balconies, the three-storey house is fully self-contained and sleeps up to ten.

The top floor houses the master bedroom (let’s call this “Mum and Dad’s Room”) and has an ensuite bathroom with a spa. The kids’ bedrooms are on the bottom floor, with the lounge and living areas on the middle floor, making for that perfect level of separation should you so desire it.

Details // Northern end of Tangalooma Resort, Moreton Island, Qld. From $980 per couple for two nights., (07) 3637 2000.
