The Islander Estate is the most celebrated local winery, established by Frenchman Jacques Lurton, who visited KI on his honeymoon and fell in love with the place. Tastings by appointment only. Jumbuck-Bark Hut Rd. (08) 8553 9008.
There is not much of a restaurant scene on Kangaroo Island; however, the two major pubs are worthwhile, with great views for sunset dining in summer.
