If you love the outback, the Argyle Diamonds Ord Valley Muster is the place to be this May: swim in the beautiful Ord River under a full moon – just make sure there are no crocs around.

We know it’s a mouthful, but the Airnort Kimberley Moon Experience on May 9th 2009 is one event you shouldn’t miss. The Kimberley is undoubtedly one of Australia’s most beautiful and spectacular hidden gems and always worth a trip. (Its Argyle Diamond Mine is also the world’s largest single producer of diamonds, and the only place in the world where extremely rare pink diamonds have been found.)

From May 8th 2009, you’ll find a whole kaleidoscope of outback experiences and attractions in Kununurra, including walks, talks, dance, music and history – AT reckons the Muster Idol event sounds particularly promising.

The East Kimberley is 121,000 square kilometres of beauty. And since Nicole Kidman conceived her baby at a magical local waterhole – we have been unable to confirm if there was a full moon present at the time – it’s no longer only the place of legend but also popular culture.

The Kimberley Moon Experience with its fireworks, musicians, giveaways, water and light effects and exhibitions of local arts and dance will be the undeniable highlight of the Argyle Diamonds Ord Valley Muster, so mark the date in your diary! All you’ll need is a rug, esky and a few friends to take in the spectacular views of the region under the shadows of the Kimberley moon.
