WHERE IS IT? Coral Bay, WA. 60km north of Coral Bay and 86km south of Exmouth along the Exmouth-Minilya Rd. Access by 2WD. Open: Easter-October 31.

WHAT MAKES IT SO SPECIAL? Edwina and Tim Shallcross’s Bullara Station is an expansive outback sheep and cattle station an easy drive from the turquoise waters of Ningaloo. In winter, carpets of wildflowers and diverse birdlife abound. There are pet lambs, kangaroos and cows to keep the kids amused. 4WD tours inform guests about local geography, bush tucker and how to identify animal tracks. There are wondrous views over Exmouth Gulf and it’s within reach of the red rock escarpments of Cape Range National Park.

RATES Unpowered campsites cost $12 per person per night. Renovated Shearer’s Lodge rooms with shared amenities cost $100-$130 per double per night. The self-contained Cappock Cottage is $220 per night, max two adults and two children.
