Subscription and refund policy

Australian Traveller Media Subscription Cancellation, Refund and Promotional Offer Policy

Subscription Cancellations

Customers may cancel their subscription at any time during their subscription term by contacting Australian Traveller at subs@australiantraveller.com.

Cancellation requests will be processed within a reasonable timeframe. Cancelling a subscription will prevent future renewals and future issues from being supplied once the cancellation has been processed.

Cooling-Off Period

New subscriptions purchased directly from Australian Traveller may be cancelled within 14 days of purchase for a full refund, provided:

  • No print magazine issue has been dispatched or delivered;
  • No digital edition has been accessed, downloaded or redeemed;
  • No promotional gift, bonus product or subscriber benefit has been dispatched, redeemed or supplied.

Where any part of the subscription has already been fulfilled, Australian Traveller may reduce the refund amount in accordance with this policy.

Subscription Refunds

Refunds are not available for magazines that have already been printed, dispatched, delivered, accessed or redeemed.

If a subscription is cancelled after one or more issues have been supplied, the refund amount will be calculated based on:

  • The number of issues remaining in the subscription term;
  • The Recommended Retail Price (RRP) of any print or digital issues already supplied;
  • The value of any promotional gift, bonus item or subscriber benefit already supplied, redeemed or activated.

Any approved refund will be returned to the original payment method used for the purchase. Refunds cannot be issued in cash or transferred to another person.

Where a promotional gift or bonus item has already been provided, Australian Traveller reserves the right to:

  • Deduct the retail value of the gift or bonus item from the refund amount; or
  • Require the gift to be returned in unused, unopened and saleable condition before a refund is processed.

Australian Traveller reserves the right to refuse refund requests where all subscription benefits have been supplied or where the request falls outside the terms of this policy.

Gift Subscriptions

Gift subscriptions may be cancelled by the original purchaser in accordance with this policy. Any refund will be paid to the original purchaser and not the gift recipient.

Third-Party Purchases

Subscriptions purchased through third-party retailers, subscription agencies or marketplace providers, including but not limited to Magshop, iSubscribe or other authorised resellers, are subject to the cancellation and refund policies of the relevant provider.

Customers who have purchased through a third party must contact that provider directly regarding cancellations, refunds, subscription management or account enquiries.

Back Issues

Individual back issues may be returned or refunded within 30 days of purchase where:

  • The issue has not been received;
  • The issue arrives damaged or defective; or
  • The issue is materially different from what was advertised.

Refund requests should be submitted to subs@australiantraveller.com.

Digital Editions and Digital Access

Digital magazine purchases, digital subscriptions and digital access included with a print subscription are generally non-refundable once access has been granted, activated, downloaded or redeemed.

Where a subscription includes access to premium digital content, member-only articles, digital magazine editions, archives or other subscriber benefits, the value of any accessed or activated digital benefits may be deducted from any applicable refund.

Nothing in this section limits any rights available under the Australian Consumer Law.

Auto-Renewal Policy

Subscriptions purchased with auto-renewal enabled will automatically renew at the end of the current subscription term unless cancelled before the renewal date.

The subscription will renew for the same subscription period as originally purchased unless otherwise stated at the time of renewal.

Examples include:

  • A 12-month subscription renewing for a further 12-month term; or
  • A 24-month subscription renewing for a further 24-month term.

Customers will receive notice of any upcoming renewal and any price changes at least 30 days before the renewal date.

Customers may cancel auto-renewal at any time prior to renewal by contacting Customer Service or through their account portal where available.

Where an auto-renewed subscription is cancelled after renewal, any refund will be assessed in accordance with the Subscription Refunds section of this policy.
