In fact, the flight sale supports Tourism Tasmania’s invitation for travellers to “Come Down For Air", encouraging Australians to swap crowded cities for Tasmania’s unique mix of winter wellness experiences, world-class food and wine, coastal adventures, cultural festivals and regional events.

In this nationwide airfare sale across six major cities, book one-way flights on select dates between 12 August 2026 and 17 March 2027, with travel windows varying by route. And, naturally, fares exclude checked baggage and are subject to availability and conditions.

Book flights to Tasmania from just $48 one-way to Launceston, if you live in Melbourne. But don’t stress, Sydney-siders, it’s only $59 one-way for you. Prefer Hobart? Fly there from Newcastle with fares from $59, Melbourne from $69 or Sydney from $79.

Additional sale fares are available from Adelaide to Hobart from $87, Brisbane to Launceston from $99, Gold Coast to Hobart from $106, and Brisbane to Hobart from $117.

What’s more, while a lot of flight sales only happen for travel periods that tend to be unpopular for a reason, the fares in this Jetstar flight sale are intentionally timed for some of Tassie’s famously cool events.

Winter in Tasmania brings its own rewards, from the boundary-pushing ideas of Beaker Street Festival to cold climate experiences like floating saunas, cosy reading retreats and dark sky cruises. Select fares extend into spring and summer, when Tasmania’s countryside bursts into colour and orchards ripen with fresh produce, celebrated at festivals like the Wynyard Tulip Festival in October and the Bicheno Food and Wine Festival in November.

Bicheno Food and Wine Festival

Speaking of Tasmania’s much-lauded food scene, Bicheno Food and Wine Festival offers another chance to dive in. The festival celebrates local seafood, cool-climate wines, craft beer and regional produce in Australia’s best town, with live music adding to the relaxed coastal atmosphere.

Australian Wooden Boat Festival

Dates: 5–8 February 2027

Location: Hobart

Proof there’s a festival for every interest, the Australian Wooden Boat Festival is a free event held every two years. It’s the largest celebration of wooden boats and maritime culture in the Southern Hemisphere. See over 400 vessels lining Hobart’s historic docks for four days of tall ships, on-water displays, workshops, food and live music.

A Taste of the Huon

Dates: 7–8 March 2027

Location: Ranelagh

The two brands now share a beautifully refurbished cellar door, giving visitors the opportunity to sample both still and sparkling wines from the Brown Family Wine Group’s luxury portfolio in a single stop. Alongside the shared tasting space, they’ve also introduced a range of premium experiences tailored to each brand.

Tamar Ridge’s story began in 1994, when vines were planted at Kayena in Tasmania’s Upper Tamar Valley. Guided by renowned viticulturist Dr Richard Smart – the “Flying Vine Doctor” – the vineyard quickly gained a reputation for quality, with a new winery established in 1998 and the Tamar Ridge label born.

Today, New Zealand-born head winemaker Tom Wallace leads the cellar, brings his passion for cool-climate winemaking to help shape Tamar Ridge’s reputation for elegant, expressive wines.

Founded by Dr Andrew Pirie in 1995, PIRIE helped prove the island’s potential for world-class cool-climate sparkling.

Crafted in the traditional method from hand-picked Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grown in the Valley, PIRIE Tasmania sparkling wines are celebrated for their fine beads, depth and elegance. Tamar Ridge & PIRIE Cellar Door is set on the west bank of the Tamar River, just 20 minutes north of Launceston and around two and a half hours’ drive from Hobart near the riverside village of Rosevears in northern Tasmania. Stretching more than 60 kilometres along the river, from the mouth near Launceston north towards Bass Strait, the Valley is a vast patchwork of vineyards, orchards, farmland and historic townships.

Floor-to-ceiling windows showcase panoramic views, while outdoor decks make the most of the surrounding scenery. Inside, the refined contemporary interiors strike a balance between modern luxury and the natural surrounds, with a double-sided fireplace to linger by. A Tamar River view creates a warm focal point. Natural wood accents add a sense of place, including a handcrafted 12-seat Tasmanian oak table that anchors the space with understated elegance.
