If you’re looking for something fun to do this summer, Sydney’s Goat Island offers plenty of options, writes Eleanor Griffin.
Goat Island’s colonial, aboriginal and maritime heritage can be explored with Discovery events hosted by the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service starting with Sunset on Sydney Harbour on Sunday the 6th of December. Spend the afternoon picnicking and touring the historic buildings and then enjoy the sun setting over the bay.
Kids Day Out is on the 10th of January and begins at 10:30am. After stepping off the ferry children can step back in time and learn about the Island life in 1835 while playing games and making crafts that were popular at the time.
Sunset on Sydney Harbour tickets are $26.50 for adults and $17.50 for children. Ferries depart every hour from Circular Quay starting at 2.30pm and return every hour starting at 4pm.
Kids Day Out tickets are $23 for adults, $16.50 for children and $70 for a family of four.
Tickets to both events include ferry transport to and from Goat Island and all activities.
