Trendy travelling and arty escapes have been given a distinctively Indigenous flavour with these new Aussie travel and fashion accessories from Catherine Manuell Design.
Travel like an Aussie and take the outback with you. Sling it over your shoulder or wheel it along behind – but do it in style. Because that’s what it’s all about with these latest products from Catherine Manuell Design: luggage and fashion accessories as hot as a desert tin roof.
Catherine Manuell has teamed up with four talented Indigenous artists, incorporating their bright and brilliant designs with the convenience and class of easily identifiable, modern travel luggage.
The four Aboriginal women – Maureen Thompson Murrarngulu, Amy Johnson Jirwulurr, Evelyn Pultara and Dianne Robinson – will benefit from each item sold throughout Oz, receiving a percentage of all profits made.
Part of the stated aim of the Catherine Manuell Design’s Artist Project is to “show how business, art and fashion can combine, to assist in the wider public appreciation of Aboriginal art . . . The project is able to provide a rare extra income source, without the artist’s needing to leave their communities.”
So you can feel good, as well as look good, next time you’re jet setting away. Bag tags, passport wallets, carry-ons, trolley cases and much more can be purchased throughout Australia in selected home ware and gift stores, art galleries and major airports.
Check out www.catherinemanuelldesign.com for more info on these products – as well as the original artworks from each artist.
