Move over Miranda Kerr. Meet the new face of the latest Qantas frequent flyer program: the Mars Rover ‘Curiosity’.
Well, it’s actually a motorised replica that NASA had to authorise Qantas to build for use in its campaign.
Much of the footage for the advertisements was shot in the outback and in Sydney’s CBD, with the Curiosity-alike roving through shops and the airport.
The car-sized rover replica will feature in a “campaign designed to encourage over 9 million Frequent Flyer members to discover the full potential of the program.”
It is understood that Kerr’s role as the overall ‘face of Qantas’ is not under direct threat from Curiosity in the short term.
For the best travel inspiration delivered straight to your door.
