The new platform ‘Talinguru Nyakunytjaku’ gives panoramic views over the desert.

Dubbed Talinguru Nyakunytjaku (to look from the sand dunes), the brand new viewing area at Uluru is a collaboration between Parks Australia and the local Anangu people, and for the first time creates an environment where there’s a spectacular view of The Rock at any time of the day, with Kata Tjuta lined up in the background. At a cost of $21m, it’s a vast improvement on the existing viewing areas and includes a new access road and parking area, a platform that holds 3000 people, and features an impressive array of interpretive walks in and around the facing sand dunes.
