Chief concierge David McLean shares his Sydney must-dos while staying at the Primus Hotel.

1. Central Roasters

A hidden little gem located on Central Street, next to Primus Hotel Sydney. Central Roasters roasts their own coffee beans and offer friendly service – this is coffee you will definitely go back for!

2. The Strand Arcade

A beautiful heritage building with designer brands, two of Sydney’s best chocolate stores (I still can’t decide which I prefer) and great coffee. Make sure you head to the top level to best appreciate the architecture as well; it also happens to be a great spot for people-watching.

3. Hemisphere

Located at The Establishment on Level 4, this bar is sophisticated and elegant. They serve up some of Sydney’s best cocktails, including my favourite Espresso Martini with tequila! It shares the same space as Sushi e – cocktails and sushi, hard to beat!

4. Royal National Park

Get up early and have a big breakfast at The Wilmot (in-house) before you head out to Australia’s oldest national park. There are plenty of bushwalks and sights to see including the Instagram-famous Wedding Cake Rock and the Figure Eight Pools. In summer you can relax on its beaches without the crowds.
