Australian Heritage Hotel, one of Australia’s key hsitoric places to stay offering excellent accommodation.
The Australian Heritage Hotel – Sydney NSW
Most Sydneysiders refer to this place as “The Australian”. You know the one: in the Rocks, great beer and pizza, opposite the basketball courts almost under the bridge. Although I bet less than 0.01% of you know that above the beer establishment are some of the most authentic and reasonably priced rooms in the heart of the city.
The elegantly fitted rooms have remained true to their long heritage — by Australian standards, that is. Each parlour is fitted with original Edwardian/Federation pieces; a tasteful touch, making your stay that much more special.
The rooms are spacious and the shared areas plush and comfortable — just as any decent B&B should be. It’s a side of Sydney that’s so under-exposed.
Its positioning in the Rocks makes it the perfect place to have a Sydney escape, and with rates as low as $125 a night it’s very hard to beat. There’s a drawback, however: the lively pub is so popular that it attracts a noisy crowd. They’re well behaved, but will only head home around about midnight.
